Fortis Eye Institute Launches Ocular Oncology Clinic: A New Hope in Eye Cancer Care

Fortis Eye Institute has announced the launch of its dedicated Ocular Oncology Clinic, specialized unit designed to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for eye cancers and ocular tumors in both adults and children. This initiative brings together a multidisciplinary team of super-specialists committed to delivering advanced, compassionate care using the latest technology and global best practices.

Eye cancers, though rare, can be life- and sight-threatening if not detected early. Most people associate cancer with the lungs, breast, uterus , prostrate etc but few know that cancer can also affect the eyes. Lack of awareness leads to many cases being diagnosed at an advanced stage, when treatment options become limited.

The clinic will feature collaboration between ocular oncologists, ocular pathologists, vitreoretinal surgeons, Oculoplastic surgeons, radiation and medical oncologists, and pediatric specialists, ensuring that each patient receives personalized, evidence-based care. The Multidisciplinary Eye Cancers treatment includes Targeted Radiation Plaque Therapy and Intra-Arterial Chemotherapy
