  • Every two years between ages 40 and 64

  • Every year if you are 65 or older.

  • If you have a family history of glaucoma or history of diabetes, you should be examined every year after 40

Children

It is recommend that a pediatrician or family physician examine infants in the nursery while the high-risk infants eg. premature babies with history of oxygen exposure, should be examined by an ophthalmologist. Childrens Eyes should be screened by their Pediatrician or Ophthalmologist at age of three and one-half years, and five years. After that, screening should be performed at routine school examinations or if Eye symptoms are present.

I was very apprehensive for undergoing cataract surgery at an age of 42 and met atleast 4-5 doctors before I met Parul Mam. And from that moment everything seemed more comfortable and we decided to get the surgery done by her. Both my eyes operated now, proper lens recommendation by her- have a 6/6 vision now in both my eyes. No words are enough to thank and appreciate Parul Mam.

Both my parents had cataract surgery done by Dr Sharma. When I got detected with a cataract due to a condition I had earlier. And on the day of the surgery she realised it would required more complicated approach. She cancelled the surgery, explained the reason, gave me a new date and flew in another specialist from Mumbai to assist in the surgery. After 30 years I can see better on my right eye. Thank you Dr Parul Sharma !
